Description:
This particular Pierre de Ronsard rose was one of the first flower images I started to photograph, mainly in their natural environment. Its natural downward bend is what initially caught my eye, stretching out from my balcony in search of the last afternoon light. I like the delicacy of its petals thanks to some outdoor backlighting whereas the dark background was simply created by two tall trees in the middle of the courtyard. My choice of transforming this image into B&W was dictated by wanting to put more attention to the texture of the rose petals.
